The John Varvatos Fragrance Collection Goes Platinum: Discover Your Signature

Debuting in New York early Spring 2013 and on the 4th of August 2013 in Australia, the limited edition John Varvatos Platinum Edition unites rock n’ roll sensibility and old world craftsmanship with modern innovation, adding a sleek edge to the eclectic John Varvatos Collection Fragrances.

The newest edition to the John Varvatos fragrance portfolio, Platinum Edition, celebrates the John Varvatos Collection heritage and embraces the rock n’ roll influence that is reminiscent of the brand and the man who wears it. Exuding creativity, electricity and edginess, the John Varvatos Fragrance Collection offers a series of signature scents that compliment a modern lifestyle Much like a wardrobe, each Collection Fragrance represents a different sensibility to suit the wearer’s attitude, mood or circumstance.

“The Platinum Edition builds on the John Varvatos fragrance heritage. It adds another layer to a man’s lifestyle,” said John Varvatos. “The inspiration was one of elegance and simplicity. It touches memories of my past and brings them to the present.”

Platinum Edition combines powerful citrus notes with a tantalizing blend of spices and herbs, to create a unique signature fragrance that is wrapped in the sensual warmth of elegant woods, black leather and rich amber.

The fragrance is the result of a long-standing collaboration between Varvatos and Givaudan Senior Perfumer, Rodrigo Flores-Roux. “Platinum Edition holds a special place for me because it is something John and I have thought about creating as we have worked on the John Varvatos collection over the years,” said Flores-Roux. “It was built slowly and meticulously using some of my personal favorite fragrance notes to create a truly platinum experience.”


TOP NOTES: The scent opens with a splash of bright citrus oils from bergamot and Chinotto orange indicative of a man’s confidence, vigor, and strength. Ceylonese cinnamon, clary sage, coriander seeds, and myrtle leaves deliver an alluring blend of spices and herbs.

HEART NOTES: Innovative heart notes include a minty kick of sensuous Patchoili ORPUR™ which melts into the rugged vetyvert roots from Haiti and the classic rock ‘n’ roll aroma of ultra shiny black leather.

BACKGROUND: In the background, stimulating warmth of elegant woods is delivered from fluid amber, rich citrus resin, and tamboti wood bringing a distinct masculine sensuality to the fragrance.

The iconic bottle has been reinterpreted with a bold, platinum finish. Branding is at the forefront as the bottle features a dog tag decorated with Varvatos’ four distinctive rock ‘n’ roll hallmarks: a square with the company’s initials: a circle containing a crown that alludes to exceptionally fine design that’s fit for rock royalty; the quintessential shield with a guitar that stands for the brand’s renowned rock ‘n’ roll sensibility; and “est. ’00,” celebrating the date of the company’s founding.
