J.K. Rowling Drops A Surprise 8th Harry Potter Novel

Harry Potter fans won't be able to contain themselves today!

Harry Potter author - and one of the coolest people in the whole world - J.K. Rowling has announced an EIGHTH book in her loved series. 

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been in the works as a play for some time now.

However, J.K. Rowling unveiled on her website she would be releasing the two-part script in one hefty novel.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child takes place 19 years after Harry, Hermione and Ron grew up and left Hogwarts. 

The print and digital version of the latest installment of the Harry Potter saga will be available after the play premieres on London's West End on July 31st. 

Also, another fun fact to make you feel old - next year will be the 20th anniversary since the first Harry Potter book was released.

You might call it the beginning of a new era...
