Jennifer Aniston Responds to Pregnancy Rumours

Jennifer Aniston has some strong words for tabloids.

As a frequent subject of media scrutiny, Jennifer Aniston has been a pretty good sport.

She's let gossip mags dissect her relationships and her womanhood for more than a decade. She has not lashed out or complained, merely rolling her eyes throughout constant speculation about the status of her womb or the number on her scales.

But not today.

Today, she finally let loose in a blog published on Huffington Post.

"Let me start by saying that addressing gossip is something I have never done," she began.

"I don’t like to give energy to the business of lies, but I wanted to participate in a larger conversation that has already begun and needs to continue."

The article was also responded to the latest bout of pregnancy rumours directed her way.

"For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up," she continued.

"I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism', the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news.'"

The former Friends star went on to slam how she is portrayed in the media, which she points out is symbolic of wider problematic attitudes toward women.

"The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing," she wrote.

"The way I am portrayed by the media is simply a reflection of how we see and portray women in general, measured against some warped standard of beauty."

Jen capped off her argument by encouraging the media and celebrities to make a stand for women:

"Here’s where I come out on this topic: we are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone. Let’s make that decision for ourselves and for the young women in this world who look to us as examples."

Jen, 47, sais she is not "pursuing" motherhood but will be the first to let us know if she is ever pregnant.
