How To Get Red Carpet Ready

Want to look like a celebrity? TV Presenter Charli Robinson provides her inside tips to get red carpet ready!

As a Logies regular, Charli Robinson shares an insider’s experience of the Red Carpet, including her regime.

“My first Logies was in 1998 with Hi5, and we won quite a few awards! Now on Scoopla I’ve been able to interview all the stars as they arrive as well as walking the red carpet. It’s the best of both worlds, I love it!

Skin Care Regime
I’ve been going to the Logies since I was 18 in Hi5, even at that age the worry of a blemish appearing the day before is stressful! My tip, get a facial a week before for healthy clean skin, not the day before! The impurities have a way of coming out only on important days and no one wants a big pimple to walk on the red carpet with you!

Exercise regime
I attend Bikram yoga regularly, in the hotel room on the day of the event I might do a few push ups/sit ups but nothing excessive, you need all your energy for the very long night ahead!

Sleep regime
Get it while you can! I have been to so many Logies where the sun is almost rising by the time you get to bed! The awards itself can go till very late so by the time you catch up with everyone and attend the official after parties, it’s a long night!

Diet
Make sure you have a big breakfast, by lunch you’ll be in hair and makeup and dinner can be late and small... and no one looks great after a few champagnes on an empty stomach!
Beauty or cosmetics regime and for the event
I like to have a spray tan a couple of days before the event (so it looks natural on the night), make up starts around lunchtime and my tip is always carry your lipstick in your handbag to the event, lips complete the look and will keep you looking fresh all night

Hair care regime
Since I’ve been using Viviscal my hair has grown so much which is great! No need for extensions anymore so I’m looking forward to a loose curl on the day and little back-combing for height. I wash my hair the day before – on the day it’s too soft/clean and the curl doesn’t hold. Keep it loose... I remember about 8 years ago at the Logies I asked for a loose curl and looked like Shirley Temple curls, which didn’t suit the dress - so now I am very clear with the hairdresser!

The Dress
Make sure you try on your dress and feel comfortable as well as sexy! Too many times I’ve had last minute pins needed or bra straps showing and it’s frantic making last-minute changes to make it
perfect – get that all sorted way before the day! You wear that dress for hours so make sure you can walk, sit and breathe!
