How to Find the Best Maternity Bras

With your body changing every day it can be hard to know what the right bra for you is. That’s where the experts come in!

Bras N Things is just one of the new brands branching out into maternity wear.

With new fits, finishes and fabrics, the latest “Maternity Body” Range from Bras N Things has been redesigned with lots of little extras, especially made to comfort and nurture mothers in this important time. In fact, the only thing Bras N Things have taken away are the annoying tags!

One of the first things women notice when they are pregnant is larger, tender breasts. When a woman becomes pregnant and her body changes, her bra should change as well. Trying to find the right bra while you're pregnant or breastfeeding can be stressful. Not only are your breasts changing size and shape regularly, but at times they can be sore—making you feel like wearing no bra at all!

The first step to comfort is to get properly fitted because it’s not just the cup size that changes – a mother’s back and rib cage will also expand to accommodate their growing baby.

If a nursing mum is wearing a bra that is too small, it will lay on top of the breast tissue, putting added pressure and strain on the tissue, which may lead to plugged milk ducts. It is also unnecessary to buy a large bra you will grow into – indeed, too big can be as bad as too small!

By the third trimester, experts recommend wearing a soft cotton sleeping bra at night to provide continual support and prevent discomfort.

Bras n Things also supports mothers with breastfeeding accessories such as re usable, washable cotton breast pads and gel relief pads, which may be used warm or cold to aid milk flow and sooth swollen breasts.
