The palace has marked Princess Charlotte's first day of school with two adorable snaps.
Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge has shared the photos which she took of her daughter on her first day of nursery school.
The proud mum snapped the two-year-old, who is fourth in line to the British throne, before attending Willcocks Nursery School.
Dressed in a red coat and pink scarf, Princess Charlotte was all smiles as she posed on the front steps of the royal family’s home at Kensington palace with her backpack in tow.
Princess Charlotte will be a full-time pupil at the exclusive traditional nursery school, which costs just over A$34,000 per year.
The young royal, who turns three in May, will take part in French lessons, cooking, painting or drama and have art work displayed in an 'art gallery'.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a big year ahead, starting with an official visit to Sweden and Norway from January 30.
