Find the Perfect Wedding Dress for your Body Shape

Looking for the perfect wedding dress? Make sure you choose a gown that will fit and flatter your body shape.

In Australia, over 120,000 people tie the knot each year and the decisions are endless. For many brides, the most important part is the wedding dress.

Here are the Frockers' top tips to find a dress for each Body Type:

Diamond Body Shape
Diamond figure girls can be a challenge as their waist is the thickest part of their body.
- Aim to make their waist as small as possible
- Have the drapery and detailing coming in to a centre part in all different angles
- Pull  in the waist with a bustier look

Hour Glass Body Shape
The luckiest – beautiful feminine curves work so well with a beautiful gown
- A fitted gown to accentuate their natural curves
- They can wear whatever they want. They have the bust, the hips and the small waist – it’s a dream
- Most brides come and want to have an hourglass shape created by the dress
- Many brides are health-conscious with a great figure – so they like to show that off

Round Body Shape
Also known as an Oval Shape. These brides often come in concerned about finding the right gown
- Keep it simple
- Keep the draping to an angle
- Make beautiful cuts and deigns and lines
- Accentuate the waistline with a belt

Rectangle Body Shape
Shoulders and hips are the same
- Use a belt or corset style to make a waist
- Accentuate the waistline with draping to the middle
- A V-neck is also recommended to broaden the shoulder line
- A soft wideness in the skirt to create a soft curve

Triangle Body Shape
Also known as a pear shape
- Aim for an A-Line dress to hide hip line but shows off small wiast – wider A-line
- Empahsise shoulders though a strapless style gown or capped sleeves
- Hide the hips

Inverted Triangle Body Shape
- A Deep V-neck brings the eyeline down and narrows the waist
- Not emphasise the broad shoulders, but the lower section
- Use a full skirt and keep top part simple to balance
