Ellen DeGeneres comments on Caitlyn Jenner's gay marriage opinion

Ellen DeGeneres was shocked to hear Caitlyn Jenner’s thoughts on gay marriage during her interview with the transgender advocate on the season premiere of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“She still has a judgement about gay marriage,” Ellen told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show.

Ellen DeGeneres, who is married to actress Portia De Rossi, said Caitlyn's stance was confusing. “I said, ‘You’re wanting people to understand and accept you – this is like, really confusing to people. And you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage,’” Ellen said. “She goes, ‘Well if the word marriage is that important.’ It is. That’s the word. We want the same thing.”

Caitlyn Jenner, whose interview with Ellen aired on Tuesday, told the host  she did not initially support gay marriage. “I’m a traditionalist,” Caitlyn said. “I’m older than most people in the audience. I kind of like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman. I’m thinking, ‘I don’t quite get it.’”

However, Ellen did say that Caitlyn was “a great interview,”
