It has been a couple of days since Beyonce dropped a bomb on pop culture.
The multi-Grammy award winning powerhouse lead the music industry to a new frontier with the launch of her new album, Lemonade, on Sunday.
Beyonce debuted Lemonade on HBO in the US via a stunning feature film to highlight her musical triumph.
While, Lemonade is at its roots an ode to black, female identity - the ripples caused by this tidal wave are of a more scandalous nature.
Peppered throughout Beyonce's new hits is a theme of infidelity - something that has plagued her nearly 13-year relationship with Jay Z for around a decade, according to Jezabel.
While neither Bey nor Jay has ever confirmed the alleged cheating, the rumours have been consistent since way back in 2005 when Jay was linked to the then-uknown, Rihanna.
Now, one track on Lemonade has seemingly hit straight on the subject. The song Sorry is about a man cheating with a woman we only know as "Becky with the good hair."
Since this was dropped the world cannot deal with this unanswered question. Please, God, tell us, who on earth is "Becky with the good hair"?!
Members of the Beyhive immediately knew (or did they?) "Becky's" true identity. It didn't take them long to start trolling the hell out of a woman called Rachel Roy - a 42-year-old fashion designer and former friend of the family.
I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn't be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.— Rachel Roy (@Rachel_Roy) April 24, 2016
Rachel, who was married to one of Jay's business associates, was first rumoured to be having an affair with Jay Z after she was seen flirting with him at the Met Gala in 2014. This, some of you will remember, was the same year Solange lost her s**t at Jay Z and physically attacked him in an elevator.
After a days of relentless online attacks, Rachel Roy finally released a statement denying she is "Becky" (although not explicity denying an affair).
"There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors," she said in her statement released to PEOPLE.
However, a new suspect has emerged.
Singer Rita Ora was also alleged to have attracted Jay Z's wandering eye in 2013. She has repeatedly dismissed the allegations, mos recently in a series of Tweets, saying: "I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyonce. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.— Rita Ora (@RitaOra) April 26, 2016
"I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyonce. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade."
Despite the unknown identity of "Becky with the good hair", Jay Z's infidelity appears to be all but confirmed by the couple. Even Beyonce's mum posted a photo on Instagram with a potentially cryptic caption.
"No matter what you've gone thru in life you can always come out on the other side!" she wrote.
At the end of the day, who knows what is going down in Beyonce's world. All we know is that she is a music legend of our time and continues to blow our socks off with woman-powered anthems. Continue to slay, Queen Bey!
