The all-rounder beauty oils we love

Filled with antioxidants and unbeatable when it comes to moisturising properties, we're smothering ourselves in beauty oils, morning, noon and night. Here is our pick of the best all-rounder oils on the market.

Wind-burnt face or dehydrated skin after a long-haul flight? Scarring that makes you feel self-conscious or irritation and discolouration on your face and body? We present your new best friends: beauty oils!

Not only do these oils inject a sense of luxury to your beauty regime, but they're truly multi-purpose: smoothing out frizzy hair, salvaging chapped lips, reviving red noses after a nasty cold and helping to keep our cuticles soft.

Add a drop to your makeup during your usual application for a subtle glow or smooth over your face after applying your favourite face serum for a revitalising hydration hit. We can't get enough of the ritual of using the glass dropper to drip the oil into our palm and inhaling the scent of the oil right before we apply it.

These days, there are a plethora to choose from, so we've weeded out the duds to bring you the best of the bunch.

Bio-Oil, $14.99

Bio-Oil - arguably the original mainstream beauty oil - helps to even out skin tone, is gentle on the face and absorbs into the skin without leaving a greasy residue.

We also love that it helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scarring: that includes older scars as well as new ones.

Trilogy Certified Rosehip Oil, $25.99

This rosehip-infused oil calms irritated skin and redness and is particularly effective on our old nemesis, shaving rash. It's also our saviour during winter, helping to give a hydration boost to really dry skin.

RAU In The Rau Dry Body Oil, $99

This oil is super fast to apply, doesn’t leave any oily residue and is particularly effective at quenching oour body's thirst when applied right after a shower.

Golden8 Anti-ageing face serum, $39.95

Containing jojoba, olive, passion fruit seed and crocodile (who knew it was a thing?!) oils, this serum will leave your skin’s surface feeling smoother. It’s great rubbed over your face at night, right before you go to bed.

Lux Aestiva Gypsy Oil, $26

If you're looking for a 100 per cent vegan beauty oil, this reasonably-priced oil from Lux Aestiva fits the bill. Bursting with omega fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, proteins and minerals, you can rub this oil literally anywhere you like for an all-natural boost of moisture.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil, USD$44

Like a smoothie for your face, this face oil from Californian brand Youth to the People can be used morning and night for a vitamin-rich hydration fix. We love its subtle but yummy scent, and that it's enriched with maqui (the most antioxidant dense fruit in the world, dontcha know), acai, goji berry and prickly pear.

Go-To Face Hero, $45

Containing ten plant and nut oils, this all-rounder from Go-To is a great starting point for the beauty oil novice. Lightweight and fast-absorbing, this baby will soothe your skin and protect it all day and night long.

Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil, $105

One of the more luxurious takes on our fave beauty product, we love adding Juno to our liquid foundation to give our skin a gorgeous glow. Made from fast-absorbing oils full of vitamin C, essential amino acids, omegas 3, 6, and 9, this multi-purpose product is also great for reducing redness and perfect for those with sensitive skin.

Murad Professional Multi-Vitamin Infusion Oil, $122

Some of us take a daily multivitamin to keep our health in check, but if you don't - never fear! This beauty oil from Murad is infused with six vitamins, A to F, to boost skin instantly. We love slathering it all over our face and neck, just before bed after our nightly serum, slipping on a silk eye mask and letting the oil work its magic while we sleep.
