FEATURED PROFILE

What would you say about your appearance prior to the makeover?

I never gave any thought to my appearance. I bought my clothes at op shops. I wore track pants, tee shirts, singlets and shorts and NO underwear. I dressed for comfort. As guys showed no interest in me for over 20 years. Ive never been asked out. I lost interest in myself and have a very low self-esteem. I felt old, ugly and overweight. I wouldn’t wear colour, all my clothes are beige, white and black. I don’t go out socially so I saw no need to get dressed up. Nobody saw me so why bother. I only wear track shoes.

What was the best part of the makeover?

Being chosen and spending the day being pampered by a very friendly crew. They made me feel good about myself. It was exciting wondering what they would do with me and what I would look like. I loved meeting all the new people and I felt like a star. I loved all the nice things everybody said to me as I never get compliments so I was very moved and emotional by all the attention I got and seeing the results!!

What was the worst part of the makeover?

Was when it was over! I found it difficult to wear the underwear, dress and shoes. It was hard wanting to see how I would look. I didn’t like my hair being cut without seeing what they were doing. I felt self-conscious with all the cameras filming everything. I wasn’t feeling confident.

What was the best advice Trinny & Susannah gave you?

To make an effort and look my best. To wear underwear and colours and not fade into the background but be a part. Trinny and Susannah made me feel worthwhile and encouraged me, she suggested I write a book which is great advice as I’d like to do that.

How has the makeover changed your life?

It hasn’t changed my life at all but I have the memory of that beautiful day. I still don't get dressed up as there’s no point as I don’t go out. I still haven’t been asked out but I have bought a few new clothes of colour, pants and tops. Maybe when the show goes to air I might get asked out but I suppose I would have to get dressed up!! Trinny has shown me how to look my best if I want to, I loved the way they did my hair, I have tried to keep it the same. Thankyou!
