Beauty Food

Expert nutritionist Gillian McKeith knows you can eat yourself sexy in just eight weeks in the Lifestyle YOU program, Eat Yourself Sexy. Gillian transforms the lives of 13 women with her diet of fresh and wholesome natural foods that are great for your waistline, face and budget!

So, which foods will give you the biggest beauty boost? We have the top eight right here!

Yogurt

Low fat dairy products are full of vitamin A which helps ward off the appearance of dark sun spots and wrinkles. A tub of yoghurt makes a great snack!

Berries

Plums, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries have loads of antioxidants which rid your skin of wrinkle-causing free radicals. Pop them on your cereal in the morning!

Salmon

Our skin needs essential omega-3 fatty acids to help boost its natural moisture. These can be found in oily fish, such as salmon, sardines and tuna. Salmon is also packed with vitamin B12 which fosters a healthy scalp.

Lemons

“Daily bowel movements are important for weight loss and your overall health, helping to remove toxins from your body,” explains Gillian. “Lemon supports digestion and helps keep your liver working well, so your body is better able to break down fat.”

Beans

Legumes, like kidney beans and lentils, provide protein to stimulate hair growth. They also contain iron and zinc which foster healthy hair, nails and skin.

Nuts

Sick of your hair falling out? Eat a handful of raw nuts and seeds, such as flaxseed, hemp seeds, walnuts and almonds, every day and your scalp should be healthy and strong in no time! “

Poultry

Without adequate protein you may suffer from weak, brittle hair, or a loss of hair colour! Chicken and turkey provide high levels of iron which can combat this problem. Eggs are another good source of protein.

Dark, leafy greens

“Dig into lots of vegetables, especially dark leafy ones like spinach, kale, Swiss chard and arugula,” says Gillian. “They contain important phytonutrients that help to keep your weight in check and your hormones in balance to support your sexiness.”
