Australian Beauty Babes

Move over international beauty brands. There are three local-born ladies who are having their say in skincare and cosmetics this season!

Becoming a successful business entrepreneur is no easy feat, however Aussie ladies Jess Hart, Lara Bingle and Natalie Imbruglia are keen to give it a crack! This season your beauty essentials are covered with their respective cosmetics, tanning, and skincare lines.

Luma – By Jess Hart

Melbourne-raised Jess Hart is one of the most sought after models in the universe. She has stalked the catwalk in her smalls for Victoria’s Secret and given homegrown Portman’s a lift in popularity as its ‘face’. And more recently, she has turned her well-manicured hand to makeup, launching LUMA, a cosmetics range of naturally derived beauty products. “I’ve always said that I’m not going to put my name on anything that I can't authentically represent,” she says. “It has taken my team and I over two years to create a line which I am proud to put my name on.”

After 13 years as a model – many consumed in a makeup artists chair – Jess felt it was time to share her knowledge on what she likes and how it is best used.

“I wanted to share the few tricks of the trade I have learnt along the way, so anyone can know how to enhance their natural features or have an effortless natural glow.”

The range consists of 30 products including Shimmer Highlighter, Tinted Moisturiser, Concealer, Finishing & Bronzing Powder, Liquid Foundation, Lip Gloss, Mascara and Eye Shadows/Definers. Furthermore, all products are free of parabens, contain no mineral oils, are cruelty-free and 100% Australian made.

The Base – By Lara Bingle

There is no denying the rise and rise of Lara Bingle; from sportsman's pretty sidekick, to the face of Australian tourism, Cotton-On co-designer and now curator of cosmetic base line, The Base.

The Cronulla-born model has had some highs, and lows, within her very visible career, but one thing she has done well recently is hone her strong points, and market them more wisely. The Base is the perfect example of this. Renowned for her signature bronzed, tan visage, Lara’s line is basically a bottle version of her bronzing kit. An easy-to-use and affordable line for the masses so that everyone can enjoy a safe tan this summer.

“My focus has been to offer the modern woman the best line of products to achieve a healthy, safe glow,” says Lara, “a look of vitality and wellbeing, one that embraces their inner beauty.”

Proudly owned and created by Lara, the all-Australian made range consists of eight products, including Instant Tan Mousse, Gradual Tanning Lotion, Body Glow Oil and Wash-Off Bronzing Gel priced from $12-$39 which are available exclusively online.

Iluka – By Natalie Imbruglia

The singer, songwriter and actress credits her free-range, healthy childhood on the New South Wales Coast for inspiring her to develop her own holistic skincare line. “I have always loved the calming and revitalising powers of water,” she explains. “I believe this is perfectly reflected in my ILUKA skincare range, which I am proud to say, includes a selection of high-quality, naturally sourced ingredients that I have personally handpicked.”

Looking a decade younger than her 39 years, Ms. Imbruglia is the perfect poster-woman for the Iluka anti-ageing range that includes 10 skincare essentials. Honing her presenting prowess, Natalie has recently been in Australia meeting face-to-face with the media to meticulously introduce her beauty baby, paying particular attention to promoting its natural and holistic approach and ingredients.
Some of these include Manuka Honey, a natural antimicrobial that helps to protect the skin barrier, Crushed Pearl, known to boost cell renewal and detoxification, and Kakadu Plum, the worlds richest source of Vitamin C.

Now, Natalie never travels without her much-adored complexion line, admitting that she is religious about applying the Iluka Fine-Line Eye Serum. “It has all my favourites, Kakadu plum, crushed pearl, marine collagen and Manuka Honey,” she says. “It’s a definite must-have!” she says.

Iluka is available in Priceline Stores nationally.
