Amy Schumer in Talks to Play Barbie

Your favourite comedienne is in talks to take on the role of Barbie.

The live-action Barbie film is going to be a PG-rated comedy, with Amy Schumer set to fill the teeny, tiny shoes of the starring role.

According to Deadline, the movie will follow Barbie's adventures in the 'real world' after she gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough.

While Amy is better known for her controversial, adult-style humour (à la Trainwreck), the film's reported PG rating has fans wondering what she'll bring to the role.

Sadly, trolls have already jumped on Schumer for not being the "right" body type for the plastic doll with the notoriously unrealistic proportions. The backlash on Twitter is, predictably, completely awful.

The mysogynistic bros came out in full force to body-shame the 35-year-old actress, forcing us to wonder exactly why they care so much about a film centred around a child's doll.

While Amy is yet to comment on her rumoured new role, we can't wait to see what she serves to the haters
