Alicia Keys continues to make good on her pledge to stop wearing make-up.
The 35-year-old singer attended the MTV Video Music Awards with a completely fresh face.
Her make-up free existence follows an essay Alicia penned for Lena Dunham's website, Lenny.
Alicia wrote: "I don't want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing."
Since then, Alicia has continued to make public appearances without wearing make-up, including her TV judging gig on America's The Voice.
While Alicia's make-up free movement is inspiring many, her appearance at the VMAs seemed to draw some unexpected criticism.
One Tweet in particular appeared to incite much of the backlash against Alicia, after calling on her to wear some concealer.
Tweeter CrazyClarine has since apologised for her Tweet and clarified she didn't mean for her comment to be hurtful.
Alicia also responded to the debate surrounding her make-up free stance: "Y'all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn't mean I'm anti-makeup. Do you!"
YES, ALICIA! YES!
