6 Most Talked About Celebrity Weddings of All Time

They've got the cash to splash, so why not go all out, right? Here we list the 6 most talked about A-list nuptials of all time.

Celebrity nuptials are pretty much known for their extravagant details. Here we run through the most over-the-top, and decadent A-list weddings of all time.

1. George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin

No one ever expected George Clooney to give up his bachelor ways and settle down, so it came as no surprise the media would go into a frenzy at the news he was set to wed Amal Alamuddin.

The A-list nuptials took place at Venice's historic Aman Hotel on the Grande Canal, and required a star entrance: friends and family arrived in none other than a boat.

2. Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

The notoriously outspoken rapper has never been shy of proclaiming his love for reality queen Kim, so when it came to the 'wedding of the year', no expenses were spared. Although it was a more intimate affair than Kim's previous wedding to basketballer Kris Humphries, the couple did ensure there were not just a few floral arrangements scattered around the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, but rather a huge major flower wall in the background!

3. Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel

While they may be a relatively private couple in the land of Hollywood, Justin Timberlake and his bride Jessica Biel went all out. In October 2012, the $6.5 million wedding took place in Southern Italy, followed by a week-long party where guests could take part in bike rides, parties and enjoy a fireworks show. To keep the pesky paparazzi at bay, the couple booked out an entire hotel and had nearby buildings closed down.

4. Salma Hayek & Francois-Henri Pinault

The wedding between the French billionaire and the screen siren was a rather spectacular event with a carnival-themed masked ball, 14-piece band, and a menu by esteemed chef Jose Andres. The $3.5 million wedding was actually their second, and no concessions were made. In fact, even U2 acted as the reception's entertainment.

5. Madonna & Guy Ritchie

Leave it to the Queen of Pop to have a wedding like no other. While the marriage didn't last as long as they had initially hoped, it was definitely memorable. The $1.5 million nuptials took place at Scotland's Skibo Castle, with Guy and son Rocco in kilts, and Madonna wearing a tiara that was once worn by none other than Princess Grace of Monaco. All 21 rooms of the castle were booked for the occasion, and the festivities continued well into the night with the basement turned into a nightclub.

6. Celine Dion & Rene Angelil

Celine and Rene's marriage has continued to go from strength to strength since their nuptials in December, 1994. The Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal, Canada, was transformed into an idyllic setting with artificial snowflakes and a 21-piece orchestra. Celine donned a 20-foot train and sewed a 7-pound crystal tiara to her head.
