5 Wedding Worthy Looks from the 2016 Golden Globes

From simple silhouettes and high neck-lines to sultry sequins, the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet was a flush with wedding inspiration!

To help you channel your inner starlet on your big day, White Lily Couture Style Director Alera Kingham shared the secret to an a-lister bridal look with LifeStyle YOU.

“Whether you are getting married next week or next year, the Golden Globes’ timeless trends will have you rushing to try on gowns now," Alera said.

Here are her favourite bridal inspired looks.

1. Structured gowns

“For a modern bride, it would be hard to go past the structured gowns adorned by Laverne Cox and Taraji Henson," Alera says.

“For brides seeking this look, I highly recommend a tailored Augusta Jones gown with beautiful clean lines. They combine a perfect fit with timeless lace detailing for brides looking for a wedding worthy twist on these Golden Globes gowns."

2. Nude Gowns

Alera predicts that this trend if going to be big with brides this season, and she says it's already taking shape.

“You don’t need a crystal ball to predict that millions of brides are going to be headed down the aisle in nude gowns and plunging necklines," she says.

"This trend is perfect for feminine brides, looking for the wow-factor. I recommend an Enzoani gown for brides-to-be seeking this look."

For those who think this may be a little risque for their wedding day, Alera says the key to this look is 'tastefully showing skin'.

"Enzoani’s innovative illusion panels embrace nude lace and plunging necklines by tastefully showing skin, giving brides the Miss Golden Globe look, as worn by Corinne Foxx, without shocking grandma or taking a church wedding out of the picture."

3. Old Hollywood

After announcing her engagement at the Golden Globes, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is just one of the celebrities we can't wait to see get married this year. And she is already completely nailing the old Hollywood bridal trend.

“If you’re after a nude gown that’s a little more ‘old Hollywood’, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was every bit the golden girl in her glamorous figure-hugging sequined gown," Alera says.

"Fittingly, the cherry on top of her wedding-worthy look was the rock on her finger following her engagement to Jason Statham.

"For brides looking for a sultry gown, I recommend Enzoani or for something sultry with an ultra-feminine twist, Mori Lee & Madeline Gardner NY."

4. Tiered skirts

One trend which Alera is expecting to see a lot more of walking down the aisle this year is tiered skirts.

"Zendaya took a risk on this trend at the Golden Globes and oh baby, did it pay off!"

"For bride’s looking to lead the pack on this trend, I recommend looking out for Enzoani’s Ibanda gown which is headed to Australian shores early this year."

5. Sequins and embellishments

Adding a bit of sparkle to your dress, like Heidi Klum, is one way to make a statement to your wedding day.

"If you're looking to break the bridal gown mould on your wedding day, the De Lanquez 2016 collection is the perfect blend of classical aesthetics and modern design, creating an incomparable fit and sense of luxury," Alera says.

"After all, what bride wouldn’t want to shine bright like a starlet their wedding day!"
