As we say goodbye to another year and think about welcoming 2017, it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming beach and party season, dusting off our summer frocks and getting our dance shoes ready.

We caught up with celebrity stylist Marie Uva to get the low down on this summers go to hair trends to get us all glammed up.

1. Loose Braids

“Soft braids are a huge hair trend for summer,” explains Marie.

“A loose textured braid, either to the side or through the lengths of the hair is right on trend. The secret here is not braiding too tightly, you want the end results to be soft with natural movement, so braiding loosely and letting small sections of flyways fall out is key.”

Marie's Pro Tip: if you hair is natural very straight lightly curl it before braiding to add movement and texture.

2. Natural Waves

“Waves and natural loose curls will be the go to hairstyle this coming summer” explains Marie. “The key to mastering this trend is not to over-style your hair. Super tight curls are not the goal this summer, you want to aim for soft, natural looking waves that accentuate the natural movement in the hair.”

Marie’s Pro Tip: If you lack the natural length and volume to wear your hair down try Amazing Hair Australia’s 100% Human Hair Remy Tape Extensions to create beautiful natural looking long locks.

3. Statement Ponytails

“Statement ponytails are a big trend this summer. The textured ponytail has been a huge trend throughout 2016 and will definitely continue throughout summer. Whether it’s worn high with volume at the crown, or low to the nape, the soft natural texture throughout the lengths of the ponytail is what makes this style so striking. Likewise a super sleek high ponytail, finished with high shine, is right on trend” explains Marie.

Marie's Pro Tip: “To perfect either look your hair must have volume so as to ensure you create a statement style and not a limp lifeless ponytail.  When creating these looks for my celebrity clients I use Amazing Hair Australia clip in ponytail to add both length and body to the hair. This gives me the ideal starting base to create a beautifully full ponytail that has gorgeous texture and movement.”

4. Fringes

“Fringes will see a big comeback as the warmer weather begins. Worn with a cute top-knot bun or high textured ponytail they are set to be a must have statement style of summer. Just ensure to keep your fringe length long with layers around the side to frame the face” explains Marie.

Marie's Pro Tip: Achieve this trend with Amazing Hair Australia’s clip in fringe and have your hairdresser blend it to your natural hair for a seamless finish.

“The Amazing Hair Australia Clip-In Fringe is my little secret when it comes to styling celebrity clients who want a one night fringe” explains Marie.

5. Off-the-Face Styling

“We will see a big m ove towards hair being brushed back off the face and complimented with a cute headband or floral band. This look was big for Spring Racing and will continue throughout summer. It’s cute, simple and can easily take you from day to night.

Again the key is not to over-style the hair, natural beauty is the number one goal this summer” finishes Marie.

Marie's Pro Tip: The key is not to over-style the hair, natural beauty is the number one goal this summer. So to perfect this look opt for smoothed hair with a ever-so-slight natural wave (not poker straight) or softly waved hair.
