Why Meghan and Harry fired Archie’s nanny on her second shift

The royal couple got rid of their nanny after an "incident", says a new biography.

In Harry and Meghan's new unofficial biography, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, authors, Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie, reveal the situation that led to baby Archie's nanny being fired on her second day.

They've revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were put in an uncomfortable position by their first nanny, finding her behaviour to be "unprofessional and irresponsible", and were forced to let her go on her second day of work.

The exact details of the incident that led to her firing are not specified, but it was an immediate dismissal, as it took place in the middle of the night.

The biography explains: "They decided to hire a night nurse to establish a sleep schedule and be an extra pair of helping hands. But their time with the couple was brief.

"Meghan and Harry were forced to let the nurse go in the middle of her second night for being unprofessional and irresponsible."

The nanny that Harry and Meghan hired following the first also did not last. For unknown reasons, she left her position, as did many other members of the royal couple's staff.

The Duke and Dutchess are known for breaking royal traditions and they approach parenthood in their own way.

They did not share the news of Meghan's pregnancy in the usual way, Archie's location of birth was not released, Meghan did not appear to the public immediately, and the couple decided that Archie will not have a royal title.

Due to these breaks from royal tradition, it was suspected that they might forgo a nanny in order to raise their son in a more regular environment.

It seems this is not true, as they went through three child-carers while they lived in the UK.

Now that Harry and Meghan have controversially relocated to Los Angeles, it is unknown whether or not they have employed a new nanny.

Although, it is confirmed that Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, is very close by, so they can rely on grandma's support.
