The Queen displays rare show of emotion on Remembrance Day

The Queen revealed her vulnerable side at the Remembrance Day service.

Queen Elizabeth is known for never letting her guard down in public, dedicating her life to duty. However, at the most recent service at the Cenotaph for Remembrance Day, the Queen did something she never normally does.

Along with other members of the royal family, the Queen attended the poigant service at the Cenotaph in London where the country takes a moment's silence to reflect on and honour those who had sacrificed their lives for the protection of England.

During the Queen's moment of reflection, the public was shocked to see the stoic monarch let a single tear roll down her face.

Taken by the royal photographer, Chris Jackson, the powerful image has captured a brief, deeply emotional moment from the Queen - as she reflects on not only those who had sacrificed their lives, but to her own relatives and friends who were lost.

Along with posting the image, the photograher captioned, "And so an emotional weekend of Remembrance draws to a close. Always a special and poignant period.

"A single tear on the Queen's cheek in this picture from yesterday's Service at the Cenotaph."

The photographer also detailed that this year's service was "especially well put together and moving", which caught the heart of the usually stoic monarch.
