Prince William is devastated that he and Prince Harry have not been close for a long time, it has been revealed.
Although Prince William has not spoken officially about his brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's, decision to step back from royal life, he has privately expressed “sadness” about how the two have grown apart, according to The Sunday Times in the UK.
“I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can’t do that any more; we’re separate entities,” William, 37, told royal friends, according to the paper.
However, he also believes the two brothers will patch up their difficult relationship in time.
“All we can do, and all I can do, is try and support them and hope that the time comes when we’re all singing from the same page. I want everyone to play on the team,” he said, according to a friend who spoke to the paper.
The two brothers are due to meet with the Queen and Prince Charles to discuss Harry’ desire to split his time between the UK and Canada and not to be a “senior royal”.
It Is thought that while the Queen knew of the momentous decision before it was made public, she was only aware it was definitely happening ten minutes before the announcement was released.
It is likely the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, will join the meeting via phone as she has left the UK to be with her son, Archie on Vancouver Island in Canada.
The couple’s close friend, journalist, Tom Bradby has also revealed that if the family cannot find a way to work through their differences, the royal couple might give a “no-holds-barred interview" on TV.
“I have some idea of what might be aired in a full, no-holds-barred sit down interview and I don’t think it would be pretty,” he said.
Tom toured South Africa with the couple for their emotional documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
