Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend last ever royal event but come under fire from fans

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have left royal fans fuming following their final engagement as senior royals.

Joining the Queen, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and other senior royals at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day, the pair appeared to be ready to begin their independent life reflecting the sentiment on their Instagram page.

While Prince William and Kate Middleton posted several photos from the event, highlighting all of the royals in attendance, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took a very different stance.

On the pair’s Sussex Royal Instagram page they posted just two photos of themselves.

Royal fans weren’t impressed with one commenting, “Kensington Royal just posted EVERYONE at the event. Your Instagram would have been better off for that too. It was an inclusive event for everyone.”

Another commented: “Are you even surprised at this point? All about building their own brand.”

There was only brief interaction between Prince Harry, Prince William and their wives at the event as they arrived separately and offered each other a brief hello before talking to other royal family members.

The long-awaited family reunion has been four months in the making with royal-watchers noting the couples haven’t been seen together since November.

“They are on different paths now,” a source previously told People. “It’s just the reality of the situation.”

Prince Harry and Meghan attended at the request of The Queen and will remain president and vice-president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust - an organisation which recognises young leaders around the world.

The event was the last in a week full of royal engagements for both Meghan and Harry who returned to the UK recently from Canada where they are establishing an ''independent life'.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will now finalise business in their royal office as they officially step down as senior royals on March 31.
