Wangi Wangi in NSW house makeover - Before and After

Take a closer look at the renovation of this large Lake Macquarie house and granny flat on the NSW south coast.

For the past 13 years Terri and Paul Renneberg have lived in their large dual dwelling property in the town of Wangi Wangi on picturesque Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle. This house and granny flat combo sits just metres from the water’s edge bordered by lush parks and shared greenways.

Unfortunately the property reflects the era of its build instead of the lake lodge it could be. The main house is a large split-level brick abode with 4 large bedrooms and two kitchens. The interior decor is in a sea faring style with multi-coloured walls. All this gives the feel of a country fish and chip shop more than a lakeside retreat.

The granny flat is also a kaleidoscope of colour. The walls are different colours in every room and the décor has been left to age ungracefully.

This property has so much potential as a large family home with holiday accommodation or in-laws quarters.

The large property is becoming too much for Terri and Paul. They want to downsize and hit the road but can’t do either while they still live in their oversized, over-coloured lakeside manor.
