Shop the Look: Marrying the Old with the New

Shop the look from the beautiful Ballarat, Victoria heritage home and blend the old with the new.

The charm of a heritage home can be a unique selling point, but the styling needs to be spot on. While an old home can stop people in their tracks, beautiful modern stying will put it all into perspective.

Pieces such as unique candle holders, bright beautiful artworks, sculptured glass and stand out cushions will pull this theme together and makes a heritage home's grand features stand out.

"The trick is creating a home that reflects modern day living while retaining that period feel," Shaynna says.

So how do you blend old with new? Traditional with modern?
When does it become too many styles or a balanced eclectic mix?
I think my style is shabbychic/frenchprovincial/distressed/industrial or something!
Every piece of furniture in my house is seconded hand - hmm does that mean my style is 'retro'!
