Remember this humble little bedroom? For those of you who don't know/don't care/don't remember, it's the bedroom in my cute little Hollywood Hills West apartment, where I lived before I moved to super hip, aloof, too-bored-to-care Silver Lake. For some reason it's on my mind today as I'm reminiscing about the golden weekend I just had. I loved this bright bedroom because it proved that you can have a happy space even if you don't have vaults full of gold bricks or a Scrooge McDuck golden coin pool. The bed was a hand-me-down from a friend, the bedding was all from affordable sources, and the rest of the furniture was from the flea market (except that amazing Japanese screen above the bed, which was found on gross Craigslist). Let this be a lesson to all of us that it's okay to surround ourselves with stuff that is cheap and readily available. Like your mom. ?? @zekeruelas #victim #yourmom #selmaheights
