Selling Houses Australia

North Haven, SA House - Before + After

Take a closer look at the amazing North Haven, SA house makeover completed by Shaynna, Charlie and Andrew.

This mock Tudor house in North Haven was all the rage in its day and is still well known in
the area, but now it’s a lost a lot of its sparkle.

David’s been trying to sell for 5 years and the whole procedure has been a long journey for
everyone in the Jones family.

David underwent a back operation in 2014, which have since led to a range of other health
issues and mobility problems. This means he is currently only using a small area of his
very large home. Even though he’s on a slow road to recovery these health issues have
really taken their toll financially and downsizing could be the answer, but to so that he has
to sell.

Summary of works – Interior
The interior of this home need to be toned down and modernized. Avocado and rose colour schemes just don’t fit well in the modern day world. Painting out the house was a large but necessary task.
The bar in the downstairs man cave had to go. This meant we could transform this room into two new bedrooms and a hall area.

The kitchen upright had to come down which allowed the open living space to become just that… open. The cabinets were re-sprayed and new appliances were installed. This made the space light, vast, and modern all whilst keeping the original characteristics of the house.
Shaynna’s final touch was the new carpet, which gave the house a warmth tone as well as connecting each room to the next.

Summary of works – Exterior

The mock Tudor look was terribly dated so Charlie had to lessen the impact by painting out some of the wood effect detail – and the lead light windows just had to go too. Out the back the pool was more like a duck pond than a leisure facility so that got a good clean and the fencing had to be brought in line with the ever-changing regulations.

There was more painting out the back and Charlie also cut down some of the pergola, cleaned the roof and returfed the old garden bed to give exterior space a
cleaner look. Dressing the back entertainment area with new outdoor furniture and BBQ transformed it into a more inviting space.
