We meet the homeowners from this week's episode of Love It Or List It Australia.
This week we chat to Darrel and Karen after they decided to list their family Queenslander in Tarragindi.
While they were astounded with Neale's renovation, the pair simply couldn't pass up the realisation that they could take a step up the property ladder.
Why did you 'List It'?
"Moving out of the house into a completely different suburb for the renovation highlighted to us that we actually were ready to experience living somewhere different; being within walking distance to shops and public transport was appealing, as was walking the dogs through flatter parts of Brisbane. We just feel it is time for a change."
What were the top three reasons for your decision?
"We both now love the house and are so grateful for the help and guidance to help us to get it finally finished. Realistically, in different circumstances, our family could live here for many more happy years. Unfortunately, practicality dictates that we really need a house with easier access.

"The increase in value was unexpected; we are looking to use this to our advantage to reduce our mortgage on the next property.
"On a side note, and as predicted, none of the greyhounds can manage the internal stairs. So instead of me running up and down the external stairs to do laundry, it’s now to let the dogs in and out of the house. Lucky we love them."
How has your life changed since the show?
"It is such an amazing relief to finally be living in a house that is all but finished and to such a high standard. It is like a huge burden has been lifted from our shoulders and we are so grateful for that. It’s lovely to relax in the outdoor patio area while the dogs mooch around the yard, something we enjoy most afternoons. One of the things Karen love’s the most; is having a laundry for the first time in my adult life, and a gorgeous one at that."
Most surprising thing that happened during the filming process?
"I was initially surprised that the style was leaning towards Scandinavian, which at first took me out of our Hamptons, everything must be white, comfort zone. But the style has really grown on us; the whole downstairs area gives a feeling of relaxed style that’s different to, but still feels like an extension of, the rest of the house.
"It’s a really warm and inviting space to be in and we love the blue colour palette against the darker tiles and stone. The attention to detail in the walk in robe, bathroom, kitchen and laundry is amazing. It really is a space that any family could enjoy now whilst lending itself to dual living later."
