Inside Australia's Most Amazing Luxury Holiday Homes

Want to know where Hollywood's A-List celebrities and super-rich expats stay when they're down under? We take you inside some of Australia's most coveted and luxurious high-roller holiday homes.

It’s where stars call first to seek out their Sydney digs. Luxe Houses is considered Australia's most prestigious agent for holiday house letting and holds the keys to more than 200 of the wealthiest residences across Australia.

There's even an exclusive concierge service on offer for guests of their multi-million dollar listings - just in case you need a Private Jet, Super yacht, Celebrity Chef or VIP Helicopter ride. (we've all been there, right?) And don't forget the Dom Perignon on arrival of course!

We take a look inside six of their most sought-after Sydney gems. One word - WOW.

The Dreaming - Palm Beach

The Dreaming is the ultimate in absolute relaxation and the work of the same architect who designed Qualia (the 6-star resort on Hamilton Island).

Megan Gale chose the property for her swimwear shoot - and its not hard to see why! This luxury house faces the water with uninterrupted views over the sea from every room. Natural tones of timber, stone and glass reflect the serenity of Palm Beach.

Subtly elegant and instinctively designer, the custom-made floor to ceiling sliding windows allow the home to literally 'open up' onto the Pacific Ocean's extensive vista. This feeling flows through to the lower level to open completely onto the private sun deck, state of the art infinity pool and private poolside cabana. Pass me a cocktail.

Weekly rates? From $10,000 to $20,000 per week

Windsor Castle - Paddington

Paddington’s iconic Windsor Castle pub has been transformed to one of Sydney’s most exclusive private residences. You can't help but feel like the King or Queen when the castle's turrets light up at night!

Built in 1870, the Windsor Castle Hotel operated until 2010 when it was purchased to undergo a major rebuild and renovation. The interior is an eclectic mix of global homewares, artworks and wonderfully diverse sculptures.

There is a curved staircase which in itself is a work of art to take you to each of the Windsor Castle's four levels, as well as a custom built lift which services all floors. The master bedroom is spread across the entire third floor.

The ultimate in luxury, there is an indoor and outdoor private retreat to unwind in, as well as an outdoor fire place and Harbour Bridge and city views. The lower level beneath the ground floor is equally luxurious, with a home gym and underground cinema!

Gordon's Bay - Coogee

This magnificent 5 bedroom property is three levels of sophisticated design tucked away in one of east Sydney's most popular snorkelling spots! The upper level features a bathroom to die for, taking in the turquoise ocean view straight through large floor to ceiling windows. The mid level offers a beautiful private indoor and outdoor living experience with state of the art design, with strategically fitted skylights maximising natural light. The lower level has an innovative new age sitting room with open bar and fireplace creating a wonderful feeling of space.

A state of the art media room features comfy lounges and a large flat screen TV alongside a private gym. A breathtaking swimming pool and lawn area overlooks the bay and headlands with a private boat ramp.

Cloudbreak - Mosman

This is a true fantasy house and those lucky enough to experience it, never forget! Cloudbreak is a resort style, modern property, incorporating award winning Asian and Australian architectural design. It even features wood sourced from a 16th century Indian monastery.

Nautical activities abound from this extraordinary location on Sydney harbour. It is possible to moor a boat at the back door! Due to the deep waterfront access just in front of a dive pool, it's seriously rockstar!

The master ensuite boasts an external bathroom straight from heaven. Bath time includes panoramic ocean views, open sky vista and steaming sun surrounded by hot pink bougainvillea flowers.

This property is popular with celebrities; in fact the entire Top Gear team stayed here while filming!

La Corniche - Sydney Harbour

This prestigious waterfront apartment could officially be the best place to be New Years Eve! Designed to optimise the stunning almost-touchable views of Sydney Harbour, the iconic Opera House, Bridge and CBD, this opulent modern apartment occupies an entire floor.

The granite commercial kitchen with serving bar and butlers pantry reflects its ability to entertain any number of guests. This year Luxe Houses hosted Ronan Keating and his VIP guests for his girlfriend's surprise birthday dinner.

While the views are indisputably the star attractions of La Corniche, the layout is also sensational featuring a series of large circular spaces wrapped in spectacular views, alfresco balconies and curved glass. This breathtaking private haven includes a grand inlaid marble central foyer leading to the palatial master retreat with another private balcony. The master also features a fabulous marble ensuite with luxurious spa bath, where you can lie back relax and soak in the spectacular views.

The Designer - Tamarama

Owned by fashion designer Wayne Cooper and the residence of Hollywood actor Gerard Butler while he was here filming God's of Egypt, The Designer is spread across 4 magnificent levels with views of Tamarama beach.

The master suite is an escape within itself with the ocean sidewall wrapped in glass, his and hers walk-in robes and heated tiles in the ensuite (of course!).

Across from the third bedroom is a home theatre. With plush lounge chairs, a permanent cinema screen and surround sound system you can spend hours watching your favourite films take your private lift to your own cinema! (The elevator has access to all 4 floors) Or, simply jump from bed to the pool from the master bedroom pool access!
