How to Match Your Home to Your Suburb

You might have a cool looking beach house or a quintessential country cottage, but if it is smack bang in the middle of a suburban family estate, it's certainly going to look out of place.

Here are a few quick tips to ensure your house doesn't look out of place in your area.

  • Having you home match the area you live in doesn't mean your house has to be boring. The trick is to make your house stand out from the crowd while still reflecting the general look and feel of the suburb.
  • If you have a double story house and there are only a few like it in your area, you will want to capitalize on this. Make this the must-have selling point of your home.
  • Your front door is the entrance to your home so make sure it is stylish and welcoming.
  • For some buyers a drive by is enough to put them off a property altogether. If the front looks old and tattered, buyers will automatically assume the inside is the same. Make sure the front of your house not only matches to area, but isn't outdated.

With a bit of thought and effort it’s possible to turn a polarizing, out of place property into the one everyone wants to buy.
