On the third episode of Find Me a Beach House, Deborah Hutton helps the Goldberg family find their dream Byron Bay retreat.
After retiring early, Michael and Jade Goldberg were in the market for a beach house on the stunning coastline of Byron Bay where they could kick back and relax with their two kids.
The Goldbergs were looking for a Byron Bay home that was walking-distance to the beach, and featured five bedrooms, two to three baths and a generous back garden to fit their young family and dog. The family also love to entertain, so they were also hoping for plenty of space to host family and friends.
While Deborah showed them two other amazing properties, it was house three that the Goldberg's fell in love with. On a quiet street surronded by nature, the property is also total beachfront - where Michael, Jade and the kids can walk straight from their door to the sand.
And for Michael, that's what it's all about. "It's all about position," he says. "This is Byron Bay for me. This is going to be something for the rest of our lives."
While the location is perfect, the house was simple and didn't have what they needed. So, the plan is to knock it down and build their forever home. "We can make it how we want it," Michael says of the decision.
"I really loved showing this particular house," Deborah reveals. "It's literally beachfront at Tallow Beach, but set back down a little bit, so they'd have to knock it down and completely rebuild, or do a massive renovation to capitalise on it.
"However, the property has fabulous direct beach access so they’re planning to knock down, rebuild and think about what they’re going to do with it. So it's going to be really interesting."
