On the fourth episode of Find Me a Beach House, Deborah Hutton guides the Judge family through the property market in beautiful Rosebud, VIC, as they seek out their dream waterside home.
Retirees, Ian and Noela, were looking for a family beach house in Rosebud. They wanted a place where their two daughters and six grandchildren can come and spend sunny days together.
They were looking for a house close to the shops and the water, as well as ample parking for their jet skis. Being experienced renovaters, the Judges weren't afraid of a bit of a fixer-upper, but they didn't want too much garden to maintain.
Deborah showed them three incredible properties, but there was one clear stand out. Walking-distance to shops and right on the golden sands of Port Phillip Bay, house one was everything they were looking for and more.
The charming three-bedroom house features two sun-filled entertainment areas and an open-plan kitchen, perfect for hosting Ian and Noela's large family.
"It’s definitely your entry level beach house, but it's got a great location." Deborah explains. "While it's much smaller than I thought they needed for their large family, it's very close to the beach which is what they wanted.
"The house is an original weatherboard cottage and they're going to do a lovely renovation on it. I remember inside, you could see where the old house finished which was the old kitchen, and you could see where the Aga stove used to go, and the larder! Those original features were still there, and that was the sort of stuff that I loved about this house.
"I hope when they do the renovation, they maintain some of those original features which I think would be really lovely. It's a real charmer, with a massive amount of work that needed to be done but then they’ll chip away at it, without a doubt."
