Creating Stylish and Functional Small Kitchens

Shaynna Blaze reveals the best tips for kitchen when space is limited.

"With a bit of creative thinking, small kitchens can be just as stylish and functional as larger ones," Shaynna maintains.

To help you transform your tiny cooking space, follow these simple tips:

Use Flat Pack Cabinets

These easy to assemble cabinets are practical, but can also look great. Try some vertical styles as well as horizontal, but be careful not to make them too high that you need a ladder to reach the top shelf!

Keep it Light

Use light, simple colours - like light greys and white tones - to open up the room. As Shaynna says: "Pale tones create the illusion of space". If able, a sky light will also help light up that stylish kitchen.

Streamline Appliances

There's no point busting your budget on the fanciest, biggest appliances, if they are going to take up valuable bench space.

Consider Your Budget

If you don't have a lot of money, dedicate a chunk to those areas that will show - such as detailed splash backs or nice bench tops.

Be Organised

Make sure everything has its place and there's enough storage for all your things. Clutter is the enemy of a small space!
