A Modern Kitchen's Best Friend

Life isn’t slowing down, it’s getting faster. Australians are desperate for solutions that save them time, especially in the kitchen.

No longer tucked away, the kitchen has become the centre of the modern
Australian home. This makes it even more important to find clean, efficient ways to discretely dispose of food waste.

Australians are entertaining more than ever. Cooking should be about showcasing the food, not the food scraps. Our warm climate can make that difficult.

InSinkErator Food Waste Disposers offer a quick and easy way to dispose of food waste and represent a modern lifestyle solution. Food scraps are conveniently deposited down the sink, ground without the use of blades into fine particles and flushed safely into the sewerage system.

Smart technology for the modern kitchen

Food waste disposers deal with food waste hygienically. They eliminate the
need to transfer food waste from the point of preparation to an alternate area to dispose of. Additionally, they remove the need for a food waste bin in the home and thus eliminate the bacteria and insects that are associated with them.

Food waste disposers fit discretely under the sink and allow food waste to be
disposed of instantly. The ability to quickly and simply flush waste down the kitchen sink significantly reduces meal preparation and clean up times.

Family safety is at the forefront of our design considerations. InSinkErator Food Waste Disposers grind without the use of blades and are now extremely quiet.

As we continue to embrace appliances that make our lives easier, food waste
disposers will again change our way of life for the better. The kitchen is the hub of the family home and new technology that improves our lifestyle, in the most important area of the house, is the future of modern living.

Food waste disposers can provide an environmentally responsible alternative to transporting food waste to landfills. They can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and at capable wastewater treatment plants, recycle food waste to produce renewable energy.

The right choice for the environment
Organic food waste dumped into landfill produces the harmful greenhouse gas, methane, which is known to be 21 times more toxic than carbon dioxide.

However, methane is a valuable source of energy if it can be captured. Food waste disposers make it possible to do just that. After being ground, food waste is sent through the sewerage system to a wastewater treatment plant (food waste is 70% water). These treatment plants are designed to treat organic waste.  This means the food waste can be recycled and the methane gas generated can be converted into usable energy to power homes and businesses.
Additionally, capable wastewater treatment plants can process food waste into fertiliser. Composting is an important part of waste management, but it is not an option for many people living in high-rise apartments.

Designed to complement composting, InSinkErator Food Waste Disposers make it possible to get rid of bones, animal waste and other organic matter not appropriate for compost beds.

The right model for you
InSinkErator offers a full range of food waste disposers to accommodate all needs, ensuring there is a perfect match for your home.

For entertainers
Families and couples who entertain a lot or have a busy lifestyle may be more
suited to the Evolution range. The power of two and three stages of grinding allows the disposal of more difficult to grind items such as bones and fibrous material. It therefore eliminates practically all food instantly. Time saving is one of the Evolution Series’ greatest advantages.

For smaller households
The standard models of the M Series –the 46, 56 and 66 offer good performance, continuous feed operation and the ability to handle varying amounts of food waste.
A family with a lot of organic food scraps may suit the 66 however the more entry level M Series models would suit small households with less usage demands.

PLEASE!! only consider an insinkerator if you live in a unit. Anyone with a backyard or some space should have a COMPOST HEAP for organic matter (not meat). I have lizards, birds and possums that forage in the scraps for food and once it has broken down I use it for all my indoor plants and on the garden. Lawn clippings (small quantity) can also go in.
