Making tiny crochet cat couches is the new isolation craze!

Have some time to kill? How about picking up the art of crochet - for your cat.

Coronavirus isolation is leaving most of us with ample time to pick up new skills to pass the time.

But the latest trend is focusing less on what we can make for ourselves, and more of what we can do for others. Our pets to be exact.

Instead of knitting a blanket, people are now creating entire miniature couches for their cat out of crochet - with matching pillows and blankets, thank you very much.

First starting on reddit, the crochet cat couches have turned into a viral phenomenon - and it's pretty clear to see why.

Even non-crazy cat people can justify how cute these little seats are.

All you need is a lot of wool, crochet ability, thick foam and a polyester filling to complete the couch for your kitty and voila - they seem to be taking to them very kindly.

The trend has caught on around the world, with people sharing their impressive end-products in a variety of colours, sizes and patterns.

There's even a published book on how to crochet your own cat couch, but don't worry if you're not a knitter - as some people taking orders and making couches for other cat parents.

The trend is contininuing to reach cat owners around the world, giving every pet-owner something to aim for during isolation.

And we have to admit - the cats look purr-fectly happy with the results, even if some of them are a bit squished. Just makes them cuter!
