Highclere Castle will be opening its 17th century doors to two lucky Downton Abbey fans for an opportunity to live just like English royalty.
For one night only, the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon will host two lucky fans to stay at their home, Highclere Castle - where Downton is filmed - to experience an opportunity of a lifetime.
The chosen fans will be treated as royal guests, offered an evening of cocktails in the saloon followed by a traditional dinner in the grand State Dining Room, dining with the Earl and Countess of Carnavon whose heritage-listed home has been in the family since 1679.
After your grand feast, the castle's own butler will serve coffee in the historic library as you soak up the experience, before retiring to one of the principal bedrooms with uninterrupted views over 1,000 acres of rolling parkland.
Wake up at your leisure and enjoy a delectable breakfast, before being guided on a private tour of the castle's extensive grounds.
On the tour, guests will have exclusive access to explore some of the 300 rooms in the 100,000 square foot castle, walking through the very corridors and rooms which have hosted important royal figures from history.
Throughout the tour, guests will have unprecedented access to witness the extraordinary oppulence of the rooms' detail, while learning the history behind each item.
“It’s an absolute privilege and pleasure to call Highclere Castle my home and I am delighted to be able to share it on Airbnb for a truly unique stay," Lady Carnarvon shares.
"Highclere Castle has been in the Carnarvon family since 1679 and has an incredibly rich history. I am passionate about the stories and heritage of Highclere Castle, and I am looking forward to welcoming our future guests.”
Fans of Downton Abbey will be able to request the experience from 12pm on October 1, but will need to have a detailed application.
The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon will choose their guests from their clean Airbnb record and a message outlining their passion for the period drama series.
