August Alsina says he and Jada Pinkett-Smith were lovers, with the blessing of her husband, Will Smith.
August Alsina is a 27-year-old musician. He was introduced to Jada Pinkett Smith through her 21-year-old son, Jaden Smith.
Speaking to American radio personality, Angela Yee, August stated that he and the 48-year-old actress has an affair that spanned years and he was in love with her. He also claimed that Will Smith was completely aware of and approved his relationship with Jada.
"I sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership… he gave me his blessing."
He continued to describe their long-term affair. The pair attending award ceremonies together and even vacationed with the Smith family.
"I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her.
"I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it, so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody."
August believes Jada was possibly was the love of his life and the end of the relationship deeply impacted him: "I know that I am completely blessed and this conversation is difficult because it is so much, that it would be hard for people to understand but, once it starts to affect me and my livelihood, I have to speak up about my truth."
"I really loved a person, I experienced that and I know what that feels like, and some people never get that in this lifetime," he concluded.
According to The Sun, Will Smith's representitives have denied August's story. They said that the accusations against him and his wife are "wrong", while Jada's spokesperson commented to Page Six, explaining that August's claims are "absolutely not true".
In the past, there have been rumours that Will and Jada have an open marriage, as they feel they have transitioned from husband and wife to "life partners".
Jada took to Facebook to deny that they are free to date other people: "The statement I made in regard to, 'Will can do whatever he wants,' has illuminated the need to discuss the relationship between trust and love and how they co-exist," she began.
"Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN as one."
