A thrifty Aussie bride saved a fortune by buying her bridesmaids' dresses at Kmart!
The bride, Danielle, from Brisbane, took to social media to share how she managed to save hundreds of dollars in an unexpected way - by buying her bridesmaids' dresses at Kmart.
As discussed by newshub, at only $25 per dress for three ladies, she managed to spend under $100 on what is usually one of the priciest aspects of a wedding - and you would have no idea that the dresses were so cheap!
"Just want to say how amazing my bridesmaid dresses were for my wedding just before COVID hit! The girls looked stunning," Danielle wrote in the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook group, along with pictures of the day. "They are from Kmart and were (AU)$25 each."
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Danielle said she was originally hoping for the ladies to wear the Shona Joy Bias Cowl Midi Dress, which retails for $240, but it just did not suit her budget.
"It just wasn't feasible for us to spend this much for the bridesmaid dresses."
Other members of Kmart Hacks & Decors were blown away by how beautiful Danielle's bridesmaids looked — receiving over 13,000 likes from fellow Facebook group members.
"Beautiful dresses and beautiful bridesmaids," one woman wrote.
"You would never have thought! Amazing," wrote another.
The formal dresses themselves were also raved about by Kmart blogger, thekmartlover. It seems to be no longer available on kmart.com.au, as they have now released their winter stock, but there are some great simple options if you are looking for a streamlined alternative to an expensive bridesmaid's dress.
And who knows? Maybe a Kmart bridal line is in the future.
