Kmart has asked that the girls clothing item be returned immediately.
Kmart has announced that a pair of baby leggings have been recalled due to a possible baby and toddler choking hazard.
If you purchased the Girls 2Pk Organic Roll Waist Leggings, available in sizes 00000 to 2 years, between February and July of this year, Kmart requests that you bring them back to any local Kmart store.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) raised concerns about the safety of the leggings. Each leg of the garment has two decorative buttons, and the ACCC fear that they can easily detach when pulled.
Therefore, if they were to come loose, the small plastic buttons would pose a major suffocation hazard for babies and toddlers.
The roll waist leggings were available for $10 and were a very popular basic baby item. If you purchased the leggings, it is recommended that you no longer put them on your baby and return them to Kmart for a refund.
On Facebook, Kmart reassured customers that the retail giant takes “the quality and safety of our products very seriously”, and therefore promptly issued the recall on the defective product.
If you are unsure if you have these particular leggings or have questions about the recall, you can contact Kmart customer service on 1800 124 125.
