Santa is working from home this year!
2020 has been a tough year. The pandemic has changed everyone's plans - and Santa Claus is no exception.
Kids look forward to sitting on Santa's lap, telling him what they want for Christmas and snapping an adorable picture.
Unfortunately, this year, Santa won't be meeting children at local shopping centres, but kids don't have to miss out on the Christmas tradition.
Although Coronavirus has shut down Santa's famous grottos, he is working from home this holiday season and meeting with Australian children via Zoom.
Instead of risking crowds at your local shopping centre, families can now invite the jolly man in red to a video chat in the comfort and safety of your own living rooms.
Links to Zoom video conferences will be sent out to those who reserve their spots online, but the sessions do not come cheap. A 12-minute call will set you back $199.
The program is a new COVID-19-era offering from Straight Down The Line Promotions, which, under normal circumstances, provide Santas and other holiday characters for hire to venues and shopping centres.
Santa only has a limited amount of time before Christmas day, so people looking to book in a Zoom session need to act fast. You can book via the Zoom Santa website.
In place of traditional Santa's grottos, the company also offers shopping centres the opportunity to hire out a live-streamed Saint Nick. Via video-link, children can interact with Santa and have their photos taken, while still remaining COVID-safe.
