Jacinda Ardern's hopeful message to children amid coronavirus deserves to go viral

Because, in a time when even parents are scared - kids still need to be kids.

Amid the coronavirus isolation shutdowns around the world, people are looking to people in power for leadership. Yesterday, Queen Elizabeth showed a more emotional side in her rare TV address. Scott Morrison's popularity has also soared on the back of the crisis. But we need to discuss Jacinda Ardern and her most recent speech.

In a new video which is now going viral on multiple social media platforms, the Prime Minister of New Zealand has once again proved her ability to be both a politician and a compassionate human being.

While her country watched on, the Prime Minister spoke about the coronavirus pandemic, but she also made a special Easter announcement - one that children would be thrilled about.

"You'll be pleased to know, that we consider both the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny to be essential workers," she said.

That's right, amidst all this intensity, Jacinda, a mum of one is still thinking of the kids.

She has also suggested drawing easter eggs to place in your front window - that way children in your neighbourhood can go on an Easter egg hunt - while still social distancing.

Whether you're into politics or not, you have to admit it, Jacinda is giving kids hope in a time when we need it most.
