After hiring ten "tidy technicians", Ikea is now launching a competition where you can win their home de-cluttering services for free!
- Bonus if your name is Mary.
Ikea recently conducted a country-wide search for proud neat-freaks with a passion for Marie Kondo-ism. Out of the hundreds of applicants, only ten Australians were deemed to be the ultimate organisers.
These 10 lucky tidiers have the honour of sorting other people's homes and getting paid $150 an hour for their services. But before heading out to work, they have to attend Ikea tidying bootcamp.
“We had such a tough job selecting our 10, Regional Städad (Tidy) Technicians as the standard of entries was incredibly high. Our chosen technicians are already incredibly well versed in the art of tidying," said Christine Gough, Interior Designer for IKEA Australia.
"The bootcamp training will help to amplify these skills further with our in-depth knowledge of people’s life at home, in addition to the potential of our range.”
To promote this new service, Ikea is offering 100 people the opportunity to have your home cleaned by one of the 10 "tidy technicians" free of charge! To apply, just send an image of the space you want organised and write 50 words about what frustrates you most about the area,
Additionally - in celebration of all that is Marie Kondo - if your name is Mary and you live in an apartment (or a... condo) Ikea is offering you the chance to win 12 months of free home tidying.
You just need to send them a picture of your disorganised apartment and write 50 words about what you would do with the time saved not cleaning. The application reads: "Go on, do yourself a favour and apply now, so that you can make time to do other things in life that spark joy!"
