Whether it's having a roast turkey or playing a game of backyard cricket, we all have different ways of celebrating the festive season. So, what do the holidays mean for some of our favourite LifeStyle talent?
We sit down with Shaynna Blaze to find out how she makes Christmas the most magical time of the year with her family.
Do you have a family tradition at Christmas?
"We always put out the milk and carrot for Santa (with a sip and a bite taken out) and some grass for the reindeers. The kids are adults and in their own homes, but we still get together and make sure to keep the magic alive."
How are you and your family celebrating this Christmas?
"We are doing the big table with the extended family at our house with a seafood and vegan option. We did the traditional roast in the past but this year we are going a bit ‘cleaner’ in our food approach."
What does a typical Christmas feast look like for you?
"Oysters and nibbles and champagne in the morning and while preparing the main lunch. We all chip in and cook and then lay it all on the centre of the table to help ourselves. The table will be formal this year so the food will be surrounded by white and gold accents to set it off (maybe even a bit of glitter in between somewhere)."
Are you a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day present giver?
"Definitely Christmas Day. I have fond memories of my own childhood and my kids growing up in our PJ’s squealing with excitement."
What does your perfect Christmas Day sound like?
"In PJ’s 'til noon with Mariah Carey blaring, the whole family creating the feast together, a Christmas movie in the afternoon and a nap, then open up the bubbles later for leftovers in the evening when the second round of family and friends come over."
What’s your Christmas wish for 2019?
"Lots of happiness and laughter, that’s what really makes Christmas."
How will you be decorating your Christmas tree? And is the tree real or fake?
"I’m going all out this year - the past couple of years I have been too crazy work-wise to give it the attention so this year is full Christmas with lights, bubbles, glitter and lots of sparkling Christmas cheer! I do the fake tree, as I have been caught out with the real ones dropping their nettles in all."
