A Queensland mum of four has gone viral after sharing her staggering weight loss photos from 10 months on an ALDI diet.
While many spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on weight-loss schemes and fad diets, Jackie Burrows has proved that you really don't need to spend a lot to get big results.
Part of the ALDI Mum Facebook group, the Bunnings worker shared her inspirational weight-loss journey on the page where she detailed her 42kg weight loss in 21 weeks, by using ALDI's $2 Thin and Slim shakes.
"I do it for myself," she says.
Now 44 weeks in to her diet, Jackie has lost 59kg and she's showing no signs of slowing down.
The Queenslander was stuck as a size 22 after having four children in four years, and never was able to rid the weight. But as she turned 53, the mum didn't want to end up like her own grandmother and suffer from diabetes, so she decided enough was enough and on January 28th, made the decision to change her life.
Jackie first noticed the ALDI shakes through a friend at work who had lost 30kg on them, and thought to give them a go.
As well as changing her diet and excercising, she relied on two ALDI shakes a day - one for breakfast and one for dinner - and soon began noticing the weight falling off.
"At about 15 weeks I’d lost about 20 odd kilos," she says. "I was losing 1.2kg, 1.5kg a week."
But while the shakes aided Jackie's diet, she has made other dramatic changes to her life. Cutting out dairy, red meat, alcohol, carbs and sugar, the mum lives by a strict, regimented routine she abides by daily.
"For lunch, I have mixed leaves, grated carrot, radish, beetroot, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, jalapeños which encourage metabolism, capsicum, and then I put shredded chicken through it," she reveals.
"When I come home, I have six almonds, naked ginger, pitted dates, then I do an hour on my exercise machine. After I shower, I relax in front of the TV and watch Bold and the Beautiful while snacking on red grapes, sesame snacks and my ALDI strawberry shake for dessert."
When asked if she's ever had a lapse, Jackie is certain on her answer: "I haven’t had any cheat days because I don’t want it! I look at a piece of chocolate or a lolly, and think, ‘Do I really want that or do I want my size 10 jeans?' I have worked too hard to get where I am now," she says.
"I’ve had a lot of people contacting me through ALDI Mum asking me how I’ve done it, why I’ve done it, and they ask me what can they do, and I’ve been giving them advice because I empathise with them. I’ve been in that position." Jackie explains.
But even though the Queenslander has dropped from a size 22 to a size 8, she's not stopping.

"I want to lose another 3kg," she says. "I’d say I’ve got another month on these shakes, and I’ll keep going with the breakfast one because I actually really enjoy them. They’re really nice to drink."
With the support from her family and friends, Jackie is excited to live life to the full.
As well as booking a trekking holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia next year, the Bunnings worker has something extra special planned that her weight had restricted her from doing before: "For my birthday next year, I’m hoping to jump out of a plane," she says excitedly.
And with summer coming up, this will be the first time Jackie can flaunt her new bod. "I’ve already bought a few swimsuits!," she squeals. "And they’re little! And I look good in them!"
"I can now look in the mirror and think, ‘God you look good.’ Beforehand, I would never look in mirror or glass reflections. I would creep past and think, ‘Oh god, don’t look.’ But now I look at myself and know that I put in the hard work and I can say, ‘You look good.’
"I’m happy the way I am and it’s not going back on! There’s no way! I’ve come so far that now, it’s just a routine for me and it’s going to stay in my life. Because I want to have a better life, for me."
