The loving grandparents open up about the toughest part about being in lockdown.
Even some of Gogglebox Australia's most cheerful couchmates have had a rough trot during the past few months. Speaking to LifeStyle, Lee and Keith update us on their famiy life amid the coronavirus lockdown.
"We're good, we're following the rules," admits Lee.
For Keith, who is a council worker, life - for the most part - very much feels like business as usual.
However, the couple have noticed something that just doesn't feel right - the separation from their granddaughter Riley.
"I just want to feel normal for five minutes," said Lee.
"We FaceTime her all the time, but it's still not the same. I just want pick her up and kiss her and cuddle her," she continued.
Keith notes that one of the saddest part about the lockdown is having to witness their son's daughter reaching big milestones via a video call. "She's standing up now, it won't be long before she's running around," the proud granddad added.
But something that pulls heavily Lee's heartstrings, is the fact that she can't hug her daughter Shannon.
"I think sometimes she just needs a hug. COVID is an emotional time for young kids, it's just insane that she can go to her boyfriend's but can't come see us," said Lee.
"We said to her, we can't wait until we can hug you at the end of this," added Keith.
The husband and wife duo love spending their quality time alongside each other, but at this stage they are yearning to have a family get-together.
"We usually have the kids around for bbqs, but it's been awhile since we've all been together at the same time," Lee said.
However, given the Stage 4 lockdown in Victoria, Lee and Keith are still making their way to the post office to pay for bills and occassionally picking up groceries.
"We're only allowed to go about 5km within the area - but my most exciting thing to do is pay a bill," she laughs.
Lee also confirmed she is still being spotted in public, despite donning a mask.
"We still get noticed at the supermarket with a mask on," she said.
Asked if they've had any feedback from fans of the show, Lee and Keith revealed: "So many people have been telling us we got them through the first lockdown, they just enjoyed watching us on Gogglebox during a tough time."
And the support does not stop there, fans of the show have also shown Lee and Keith some extra love as come to terms with spending this time apart from Riley.
"Oh my goodness, all those beautiful moments you are missing out on. It's just so heartbreaking," one commented on Instagram.
"She's just gorgeous sad you can't go and see her I know I'm a grandmother love the show and can't wait till next Wednesday," another added.
