Backed by consumer advocate Choice, Bill Hero is a company that calculates the potential savings and helps customers change to a new provider.

Subscribers can sign up to Bill Hero for a yearly fee of $49 - in exchange the company will monitor every power bill the customer receives.
"Over that subscription period we report back to them on each bill and advise them how much they can save and help them switch to achieve those savings," Mr Foxworthy said.
According to the news site, mother-of-two Fiona Hall recently joined the service.
"We ended up saving $243 on our electricity bill for the year which was fantastic," she said.
