Dolly Parton opens up about her tattoos and the emotional reason behind them!

The country crooner finally gets candid about her ink!

Dolly Parton made her singing debut at 13 and has since gone on to win over a legion of fans.

And despite having a care-free attitude, there's one question that has long been on the tip of every fan's tongues, "Does she have any tattoos?"

The thing is, Dolly almost always appears to be donning a long-sleeved dress when she performs or is seen in public, but now she has addressed the rumours that she's inked up in a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine.

"I do have some tattoos, that's true," she said.

Dolly also noted that her ink is not on the sleeves, despite the public speculation.

"My tattoos are pretty, they’re artful and they usually started out to cover some scar, not to make a big statement," she says.

"Ribbons and bows and butterflies are the things that I have. I was very sick for a while and I had to wear a feeding tube. It left a little indention in my side and I didn't like it because I’m so fair that scars turn purple on me."

"But they're tasteful. I'm not a tattoo girl."

Funnily enough, someone who does pride themself on being a tattoo girl, happens to be Dolly's God Daughter Miley Cyrus.

Ink adventures aside, the 74-year-old also spoke about other rumours that have plagued her during her career.

"Oh yeah! I always laugh at them," she says. "One, it shows up about every three years in the tabloids, where I'm bedridden because my boobs are so heavy that I'm crippled for life on my back. I just laugh. Well, they are heavy, but they haven't crippled me yet."

Go you good thing!
