Removing bright yellow spray paint from a black car doesn’t sound easy or cheap.
But when faced with this dilemma, one savvy mum's genius cleaning hack removed it without any fuss.
When her two-year-old decided to spray paint her black car bright yellow, she was understandably devastated thinking she would have to pay hundreds of dollars to get it fixed.
But after reading some cleaning hacks online she decided to give one unlikely household product a go and to her surprise, it worked with incredible results.
Using a $7 can of mosquito repellent Aeroguard, the mum said she was shocked and thankful that it actually worked.
“Honestly thank you to the ladies who posted about using mosquito repellent to get paint off of surfaces,” she wrote on the Facebook group Mums who Clean.
“My two-year-old thought it would be fantastic to spray paint my black car, bright yellow.
“This is before an after and the before was half way through cleaning it.”
The results are incredible with the paint almost completely gone after simply spraying and scrubbing.
Although it worked on the car itself, she didn’t have the same luck with the tyres.
“It never budged off of my tyres but turps will work on them l, it worked on my rims though thank god!! Few tough bits but I will work on them,” she said.
Fellow mums were amazed at the result. “That did a great job,” one said.
But others waned that mozzie repellent can also damage paint on cars.
“Oh no I hope you didn’t use mozzie repellent, I’ve seen it strip paint of cars”
Luckily, there was no damage to her car and the spray paint came straight off.
