Breaking news: Cate Blanchett injured in a chainsaw accident

Oscar-winning actress, Cate Blanchett, has suffered a head injury while self-isolating at home in England.

Aussie superstar actress, Cate, revealed that she was hurt while operating a chainsaw at her home in East Sussex, England.

Cate discussed the incident during a podcast interview with Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.

The Oscar-winner said she took a 'nick' out of her head while using the motorised tool.

Luckily, the injury was not serious.

She said: "I'm fine. I had a bit of a chainsaw accident yesterday, which sounds very exciting, but it wasn't. Apart from the little nick to the head, I'm fine."

"Be very careful with that chainsaw. You've got a very famous head. I don't think people would like to see any nicks taken out of it," the former PM replied.

Cate also described her fairly uneventful isolation period, spending time with her husband and children.

She has taken this year off of work to help her son, Dashiell, through his high-school leaving exams:

"I took the year off ostensibly to be with him and support him through exam period," she explained.

"And then all of this exam stuff evaporated [because of Coronavirus] and I'm left with an 18-year-old who doesn't really want to have anything to do with me!"

Cate concluded: " It's a little bit discombobulating, but it's a high-class problem, we're all well."
