Fitbit Cardio Tennis: The new way to work up a sweat

Never fear, you don’t have to be a tennis pro to enjoy this workout.

If you’re looking for a fun way to get active, Fitbit’s Cardio Tennis program is a great way to get moving with friends and family.

Fitbit has brought together a challenging cardio workout topped off with a hearty dose of fun with their new program. The Lifestyle team decided to join a session and were surprised with the results.

What is it?

Filled with a range of fun tennis drills paired with some upbeat music, this cardio-focused workout will get you moving all over the court and guarantees a few good laughs.

Each class ranges from 45 to 60 minutes, depending on what session you book into. Best of all, it’s open to all ages and ability levels.

Do I need to be good at tennis to play?

While many of the Lifestyle staffers were slightly nervous about the thought of picking up a tennis racquet, it turns out you don’t have to be a grand slam player to enjoy the workout. In fact, it doesn’t even matter if you’ve never played before. That’s what the coach is there for!

The Fitbit Cardio Tennis coach is trained to offer activities that cater to your group’s skill and fitness levels. From beginners to those who know their way around a tennis racquet, you’ll all be able to feel satisfied that you had a great workout.

The Lifestyle team’s session incorporated everything from practising hitting the ball over the net and sweating it out at the squat station, to an egg and spoon race with our racquet and ball.

How much does a session cost?

The price varies from one coach to the next. On average you can expect to pay between $15-$25 per session.

What equipment do I need?

  • A tennis racquet (some venues might have some for hire but it’s best to call before to check)
  • Your favourite workout gear
  • Trainers (or acceptable footwear)
  • Water bottle
  • A Fitbit so you can track the calories burned during the session
