If you’re expecting a little bundle of joy this year take note - Oliver and Charlotte are the most popular baby names in Australia this year.
Thanks to royal parents The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge choosing the name Charlotte for their little princess, the name has become increasingly popular.
Charlotte has over taken the name Olivia which was the most popular name for three years running. Charlotte is the most sort after for girls in every state except for VIC and WA.
Meanwhile, the name Oliver has been the top name for boys since 2013 overtaking Jack and William.
It was also the most popular name in every state except the Northern Territory where Jack still reigns supreme.
When it comes to selecting a name Aussie parents are right on trend with 1 in 10 of the 305,073 Australian babies born last year being given a name on the top 10 most popular list.
